3D Modeling of Ladera Towers

3D modeling of Ladera Tower Building

Client

Ripple Industries

Project Type

3D Modeling

Location

Mangilao, Guam

Project Overview

For a detailed architectural study and structural analysis of Ladera Towers in Mangilao, Guam, 2cofly was tasked with creating a high-accuracy 3D model of the condominium building. To achieve this, we employed a combination of LiDAR scanning and photogrammetry, ensuring both geometric precision and high-resolution texture detail.

This 3D model provided architects, engineers, and developers with a comprehensive digital representation of the building, allowing for structural assessments, renovation planning, and visualization studies.

The Challenge

Capturing a large, multi-story building with precision required both high-resolution surface imagery and accurate geometric data. Key challenges included:

  • Ensuring data precision for architectural analysis

  • Capturing fine structural details such as balconies, windows, and facades

  • Providing a realistic and interactive digital model for design review and study

To overcome these challenges, 2cofly integrated LiDAR scanning and photogrammetry, leveraging the strengths of both methods to create a precise and photorealistic 3D model.

Deliverables Provided

3D Point Cloud Model – Highly accurate spatial representation for architectural analysis

Textured 3D Mesh Model – Photorealistic rendering of the building for visualization and study

Digital Twin for Virtual Analysis – Interactive model for planning, modification, measurements and collaboration

Results & Project Impact

Architectural & Structural Analysis

The 3D model provided engineers and architects with an accurate digital representation of Ladera Towers, allowing them to analyze the structure’s design, assess potential modifications, and plan renovations with precision.

Cost & Time Efficiency

By using drone-based scanning, the entire site was mapped much faster and more affordably than traditional manual surveying methods.

Improved Visualization & Planning

The combination of LiDAR precision and photogrammetry realism resulted in a high-quality 3D model, enabling better project visualization and more effective decision-making.

Conclusion

This project demonstrates how advanced drone-based 3D modeling can provide highly detailed and actionable data for architectural studies, structural assessments, and urban planning. By integrating LiDAR and photogrammetry, 2cofly delivered a precise, photorealistic model of Ladera Towers, offering engineers and developers an efficient and cost-effective solution for their analysis needs.

For projects requiring 3D modeling, digital twin creation, or architectural visualization, 2cofly provides state-of-the-art drone solutions to bring designs and structures to life.
